Thomas A. Trook

Thomas Alan Trook, 78, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday Aug. 4, 2019 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. surrounded by family.
 
He was born to parents Edwin M. and Helen M. Trook on Nov. 28, 1940 in Marion, Indiana. After graduating from Marion High School, he moved to Colorado to attend the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. In 1965 he enlisted in the Air Force with a rank of sergeant serving as a radio repairman for four years during the Vietnam War.
 
After the Air Force, he moved to Evergreen, Colorado and had a successful career in the field of electronics and computer engineering. He lived in Colorado for almost 30 years before his return to Marion, Indiana in order to care for his mother, Helen.
 
Tom had a voracious appetite for learning, particularly in the subject matters: astronomy, archaeology, natural history and human health. He had a passion for reading and was a self-proclaimed “seeker of truth,” trying to find answers to some of life’s complex questions. He was a kind and generous person whose smile and dry humor was always welcomed by the people around him.
 
Tom is survived by his son, Jason and his former wife, Polly Rodriguez. Tom was predeceased by his parents and younger brother, Jon M. Trook.
 
At the family’s request no service or memorial will be held.
